Millersburg Ohio Murder Mystery at Barn Inn Bed and Breakfast

A wonderful evening was had by guests and friends at the Millersburg, Ohio, Barn Inn Bed and Breakfast, where on Saturday, January 19, 2013, a "Who Dunnit" Murder Mystery brought intrigue and laughter.  The setting was the 1969 Barry Manilow High School Reunion; and "Classmates" who arrived were the same characters they were in high school back in the '60's, so it was not too difficult to figure out who had motives to kill the principal and the captain of the swim team.

Magic and intrigue were woven throughout the evening event; then Elvis Pressley arrived!  I laughed until my sides hurt as he sang his heartbreaking lyrics to the ladies and; in true Elvis style, "Consoled" them by giving them his "White perspiration cloths."

Evening cuisine offered tossed salad, rolls, chicken, wedding steak, mashed potatoes, gravy, dressing, hot vegetables, and a selection of pie choices.

An enjoyable and memorable evening was had by all.  We plan to host additional Murder Mysteries in January, 2014.  We will post them on our website when those dates are determined.

Visit Newly Decorated Barn Inn Bed and Breakfast in Ohio's Amish Country

Visit the newly decorated Barn Inn Bed and Breakfast in Ohio's Amish Country, one of Holmes County's finest B and B's.  In an effort to provide a quality experience for their guests, the Barn Inn owners, on a continuing basis, update and improve the inn.  Newly painted, Sherwin Williams decorator-inspired colors add comfort to the entire interior of the inn. The west section of the grand common room has been painted a teal/green color, the accent color in the sampler patchwork quilt on the wall.

Most of the common room and the hallways are painted in a sage/tan neutral tone and the accent wall behind the reception desk and breakfast buffet area is painted a perfect red that brings just the right amount of warmth into the room.

Viewers are responding positively to the colors; and owners Paul and Loretta Coblentz are very pleased with the transformation.  Continuing updates will include some new window treatments.

Millersburg Ohio Bed and Breakfast decorative mural

Here at the Millersburg, Ohio, Barn Inn Bed and Breakfast, we are enjoying new decorative paints. Owner, Loretta Coblentz, has completed a new mural of trees which she free-hand painted.

I began by hand painting a row of six trees, painted in a light tan.  Then in medium tones, I painted trees in the foreground and shaded them with a little darker tone.  After completing the trees, I used a leaf/tree stencil from my favorite stencil company and stenciled leaves in two tones.

For the first time, I hand painted birds that are more realistic than other birds had previously stenciled.

Fine accommodations, exceptional breakfasts, and Amish Country hospitality can be found at The Barn Inn, located between Berlin and Millersburg, Ohio.
