In addition to the six workshops and help stations, you can enjoy a full day of "Sensational" Family-Friendly Activities! 10 am. to 2 pm., bring your boots and participate in the dip netting for aquatic invertebrates with Carrie Elvy and the Ohio Certified Volunteer Naturalists. Be sure and check out their table set up near the roadway where you can get a closer look at the creatures that inhabit our marsh. Visit the Wilderness Center Exploration Area in the Birder's Market Place, where you can view the different booths, with items for sale such as, binoculars, nature photographs, books, bird houses and artwork. At the Shreve Elementary School, children can participate in programs including, face-painting, stories, crafts, and coloring projects.
8:00 a.m. to 4:45 - Birders Market Place will be open
10:00 a.m to 2:00 Dip-net for marsh creatures with Carrie Elvery
9:30 a.m. - Fur, Feathers & Scales, by Akron Zoo
10:30 a.m. to 2:30 - Family Activity Area, sponsored by the Ohio Certified Volunteer Naturalists.
12:30 p.m. - Snakes of Ohio, by Lynda Price, The Wilderness Center
2:30 p.m. - In Living Color, by Akron Zoo
Registration begins at 7:00 a.m. at the Shreve Elementary School - 598 North Market St. (State Route 226). A $10 admission ($15 per family) includes any or all events and six workshops. Free maps directing to the help stations will be available.
