College presents Music and Art Festival

The College of Wooster will be hosting their second annual festival of the arts and music. Wooster Jam 2012 will be held on April 20 & 21 at the Wooster Fairgrounds. This event is free and open to the public. Friday's events will be from 4 p.m. until midnight and Saturday will be from noon until midnight.

This festival will feature artists from all around the state. There will be a variety of music such as opera, folk, jazz, and rock and roll, as well as various art forms like theatre, dance, magic, painting, photography and many more. There will also be food and beverages available for sale.

Pet Friendly Alternative Holmes County Ohio

The Holmes County, Ohio Barn Inn Bed and Breakfast offers a pet friendly alternative suggestion for those guests wanting to bring their furry family member along on their vacation. East Holmes Veterinary Clinic provides a Doggy Day Care Service and is dedicated to ensuring that the animals in their care are safe and comfortable. The Barn Inn does not allow pets in the rooms due to health and allergy issues, but want all guests to enjoy their time here in Amish Country.

Explore Holmes County during the day with your animal and then return them to the clinic. The hours of operation are Monday - Friday, 7 a.m.-6 p.m. and Saturday from 7 a.m.-12 p.m. Unfortunately, they are not open on Sunday, so you will not be able to check in or check out your animal.

Present prices are $15 per night, which includes two doggie walks. Verification of current vaccinations are required and owners must provide food for their animal.

Additionally, East Holmes Vet Clinic has an Emergency Vet Line and offer emergency and critical medical care service 24 hours a day. They also provide 24 hour pet pick up and delivery service for surgeries, sick pets, and emergencies. You can trust the safety of your pet to these professionals.

Berlin Ohio B and B Recommends Quilt Shop Hop

The Barn Inn Bed and Breakfast, a Berlin, Ohio, B and B, recommends the many fine quilting resources available in the area.  On March 23 & 24, 2012, Country Craft Cupboard, Gramma Fannie's Quilt Barn, Helping Hands Quilt Shop, Lone Star Quilt Shop, and Miller's Dry Goods will be hosting the "Quilting 'n Cuisine" Mini Shop Hop, where they will "Hop from shop to shop" collecting instructions for their "Mystery Quilt."

The exciting event begins with each participant traveling to the five locations between 8 a.m. and 3 p.m. to receive their free mystery wall hanging instructions as well as a recipe..  The shopping trek will conclude at the Berlin Christian Fellowship Church, with a satisfying culmination of food samplings beginning at 2:30 p.m., and where finished models of the "Mystery Wallhanging" will be displayed.  Prizes will be drawn as well as a grand prize awarded.

Passports are selling quickly, so if you are interested in this event, purchase your tickets soon!  Pre-registration tickets are $5.  Approximately 20 tickets remain for Friday.  Tickets sold at the door will be priced at $8, and delaying purchasing them may result in being turned away.
Quilters coming to The Barn Inn Bed and Breakfast may, upon request, view Loretta's historic and unique Crazy Quilt and enjoy a full country breakfast before heading out to this fun event.

Ohio Amish Country Bed and Breakfast receives Award

The Millersburg, Ohio Barn Inn Bed and Breakfast has been named "Best for Farm Activities" by Pamela Lanier's Bed and Breakfast Directory, results of Guests voting for their favorites out of over 8,500 B&B's.

Although the Barn Inn truly is a rennovated barn, we believe that it is the activities in the area that have won us this award. Visitors are directed, each morning at breakfast, to places like the Farm at Walnutcreek, Amish Home at Yoder's, Hershberger's Farm and Bakery, as well as the local animal auctions and Amish Homesteads.

Ohio Amish Country Home and Garden Show

The Buckeye Event Center, located in Dalton, Ohio, is hosting the Amish Country Spring Home and Garden Show this weekend, March 1-3, 2012. It will feature some of the best handcrafted furniture and cabinetry that Ohio has to offer. Admission is $5 per person, kids 12 and under are free.

Hours will be as follows:
Thursday- 1 p.m. - 7 p.m.
Friday- 10 a.m. - 8 p.m.
Saturday- 9 a.m. - 5 p.m.

There will be something for anyone that is looking to update their homes, inside or out. Some of the featured vendors will be Homestead Furniture, Little Cottage Company, Miller Custom Exteriors, Schlabach's Engine Repair, Village Gift Barn & Country Gatherings, and many more.
