Ohio Wineries, wine tour, Ohio Barn Inn Bed and Breakfast

The tradition of wine making is intrinsic to Ohio with the settlement of eastern European immigrants who found that Ohio's native grapes produce a tasty, sweet wine.  Ohio winegrowers have established vineyards yielding high-quality grapes such as Riesling, Chardonnay, Pinot gris/Grigio, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, and Pinot Noir; and, yearly, Ohio growers are adding additional varieties.

New French-American hybrids have been introduced to Northeastern Ohio.  Heritage wines made from Concord, Niagara, and Catawba have yielded award-winning wines.  Ohio's world-renowned ice wines are produced from frozen Vidal Blanc grapes, and some of these wines have ranked Ohio among the finest of wine producers.

Breitenbach Wine Cellars, Inc, 5934 Old Rt. 39 NW, Dover; This wine cellar features vinifera and hybrid American varieties including Port, Sherry, Ice wine, and more. You can also enjoy the cafe they have that is open for lunch.

Gateway Place Wines, 14875 Navarre Rd SW, Wilmot. They have the largest selection of Ohio wines. They offer wine tasting daily as well as antiques and Amish-made products.

Perennial Vineyards Winery

Perennial Vineyards Winery, 11877 Poorman Street, Navarre. Stark County's oldest Vineyard and Winery. They grow excellent wines, sell gourmet pizzas and have a straw bale tasting room.

Rainbow Hills Vineyard, 26349 Township Road 251, Newcomerstown. (740)-545-9305 (No website available) They feature a variety of dinner and dessert wines, an Aspen-styled tasting room, and bread and cheese plates upon request.

Raven's Glenn Winery & Restaurant, 56183 CR 143, West Lafayette. A family winery with an Italian full-service restaurant. They have a beautiful setting along the Tuscarawas River and a unique gift shop. Winery tours by appointment.

Silver Moon Winery, 4915 Old Route 39 NW, Dover. Features over 20 sweet wines! They offer different snacks and have a variety of merchandise that can be purchased.



Swiss Heritage Winery, 6011 Old Route 39 NW, Dover. Wine and cheese both made on the premise, snacks, and a gift shop.

Troutman Vineyards, 4243 Columbus Rd, Wooster. Premium wines, snacks, and a gift shop! Tours by appointment only.

Yellow Butterfly Winery, 11661 Blue Ridge Rd, Newcomerstown. One of Ohio's newest wineries features fine wine and good food from their restaurant.
