Ohio Quilt Shops, Discount Fabrics

Quilters needing another "Fabric Fix", will find inspirations, tools, and many fabric choices in one or more of our many quilt and fabric shops in the Berlin, Ohio and the greater Amish Country area.  Many Amish businesses do not have an on-line presence, so you may need to refer to other listings.With so many choices, I am listing only some of the shops.


My favorite shop is Miller's Dry Goods in Charm.  They offer over 8,000 bolts of top-quality 100% cotton fabrics, quilting supplies, and in their second building next door, they offer a very large selection of quilting books, patterns, finished quilts, and more.  Miller's Dry Goods always have a good selection of reduced fabrics in the lower level of their shop, as well as flat folds of upholstery fabrics.

Lone Star Quilt Shop, south of Mt. Hope, offers over 3,000 bolts of fabrics in stock for quilters. They also specialize in making custom quilts ordered to customer specifications. Amish owned, they do not have a website, but find details here.

Helping Hands Quilt Shop and Museum located in Berlin, Ohio, has on display, hundreds of quilts, both antique and new.  The shop has in stock over 3,000 bolts of fabric and carries notions, stencils, quilt frames and many quilts made by local Mennonite and Amish artisans.

Zinck's Fabric Outlet, located at 4568 State Route 39, Berlin, Ohio; buyers of warehouse lots, offers, at discount prices, quilting fabrics, fabrics for general sewing, upholstery, and crafts. Ideal source for church, and school costumes or drama backdrops.  Their back room is filled with notions, books, Amish hats, etc.



Country Craft Cupboard, Berlin, Ohio

 Country Craft Cupboard located in Berlin, is one of the most inspiring shops that I've enjoyed over the years.  They carry homespun fabrics, wools and offer many classes and patterns for such things as wool applique, yarn punch, rug hooking, and scrapbooking.  This is a "Must" stop for anyone with creativity.

Swiss Village Quilts & Crafts in Sugarcreek offers locally made quilts, wall hangings, pillows, and welcomes special orders. 

Make the Millersburg, Ohio, Barn Inn Bed and Breakfast you lodging choice, where owner, Loretta Coblentz, has fine examples of inspiring quilts and offers a free quilt history documentary for viewing.
