Ohio Amish Country, Horse on Road

I decided that while I am posting about unique photos captured while traveling on our back roads, I'll share this photo taken about three years ago.  It was a rainy day and just about one and a half miles from The Barn Inn, Millersburg, Ohio, I came upon an Amish mother and her daughter who were trying to get the horse off of the road.  The mother who is by the horse's head at one point had a bucket of grain to try to lure the horse off the road and her daughter was pushing from the rear.  Eventually a truck pulled up and the man pictured is trying to pull the horse.  Unfortunately, it was raining so my photo is blurry, but this was a fun sight for myself and other drivers backed up behind us.  They worked for at least ten minutes before they were able to get the horse onto the grass.  The family said that the horse was scared of the wet road.  You never know what you will find when traveling the back roads of Holmes County.  Find here valuable tour and travel information.
